GOD HAD A VISION & THAT VISION IS ME

ABOUT ME

My name is Victor, but I'm commonly referred to as Roach. I am a 20 year old trans male residing and attending college in North Carolina.

  • I am a multimedia creator looking to expand my creative horizons and better educate the public on the world around us, alive or dead.

  • I am an active bachelor of the sciences studying zoology and entomology to fight eco-fascism and educate people around the world on the potential for life and opportunities all around us in nature. It is my dream to work with venomous arthropods and develop the world's first centipede antivenom.

  • Along with my art interests, I am also a writer, demonologist, entomologist, roadkill collector, educator, and taxidermist.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Where can I view your commissions? As of January 2024, my freelance commissions have been closed indefinitely. My EDS has made it incredibly difficult to draw and fufill commission queues in a reasonable timeframe.

  • I have a specific question not covered in your FAQ. Where should I ask? My direct messages are open on all platforms, you can always ask there. I also have an email available to use in my contact window; emails are usually answered between 12-24 hours.

  • I'm visiting a show you're attending. What forms of payment do you take? Exclusively PayPal or cash.

  • What materials do you use to draw? All digital pieces are created on a Huion 610PRO tablet with 64bit Krita. Traditional pieces vary by medium, but as for brands I prefer to use Winsor & Newton, Royal, Faber-Castell, General's, & Prismacolor.

  • Where do you get animal remains? I am a roadkill collector and scavenger by hobby and profession; all remains are either found and collected by hand or donated.

  • If I buy a painting from you or a physical print, what are my rights of use? My artwork may not be scanned, copied, traced, redistributed, or duplicated in any circumstance unless otherwise specified.

GENUINE & AUTHENTIC SUSTAINABLY COLLECTED SPECIMENS.

Death is inevitable. Art is forever. My specimens are 100% real and collected with love and dedication. Each specimen has a story, no matter it's size, color, or shape. While some of my specimens are naturally deceased or donated, the majority of them found death through human interference such as habitat destruction or vehicular death/roadkill. As an artist and scientist, I find it a responsibility to preserve their memory and use these unfortunate losses to better educate our society about the natural world. While most of my specimens are only seen in my in-person shows, eligible works can be bought on my Etsy Shop.

How does it work? All of my specimens are dried naturally with no added chemicals or toxins. My larger specimens of mammals, reptiles, etc. are dried through mummification. I use a Native American method of drying through ground maize and cornmeal. This process takes up to four weeks minimum but keeps the natural color and texture of the specimen. The rabbit in the image above is an example of a work in progress that (as of the image taken) has been dried for one month.
